Hi there!
I’m working on a project that involves using a IG16 6VDC 051 RPM Gear Motor (http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/item.aspx/ig16-6vdc-051-rpm-gear-motor-discontinued/1038/), but noticed that this product has been discontinued on this website. I’ve been having a lot of trouble finding an identical product. Is there another, similar motor that can accomplish the same task as this motor? I’m new to robotics, so any help and advice is appreciated!
Also, I was told that gear motors like this one can be powered through a universal power adapter (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-ACD-477-Universal-Power-Adaptor/dp/B000Z31G3M). However, looking at the motor, it seems that wires need to be soldered on and then somehow connected to the power adapter. This seems unintuitive and possibly dangerous — is there any advice with this regard? The motor should be running continuously for months on end.
Thank you!
