Garmin GPS 18X 5Hz to Jetson Tx2 Connection

Hi,

Just received my RS232 to USB converter and the female solder pot connector. What is the correct wiring for the adapter? Is it similar to the GPS manual pin 2 to Tx, pin 3 Rx, and pin 5 for GND? what do I do with the power cable?

Hey Tyagi,

See the attached image for the cable pinouts on the RS232 end. The GPS will need to grab power from a 5V pin on the Jetson or another 5V bus.

Thanks a lot. I got some output from the GPS using GPSCAT command. Now to put it all together.
