A Customer asked: “I am thinking about buying some sort of small security robot. The MLT-JR seems like a good platform but I would like to have a camera mounted on this. The camera doesn’t need to have the ability to turn although I would like it to have an IR option. Rolling cage or stabilizing arms are not necessary for my goals. I don’t have a high budget for this so I hope you could give me a possible price.
Thank you for your answer.”March 30, 2015 at 10:53 am #2250SuperDroidKeymasterThere are lots of different ways you can go. Please start by looking at our support page. http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/custom.aspx/how-to-build-an-inspection-robot/84/
The lowest cost I can think of is getting the MLT-JR with a simple RC controller: http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/item.aspx/mlt-jr-tracked-robot-platform/1723/
Then you can use this camera and video transmitter:

http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/item.aspx/wide-view-color-infra-red-camera-with-7-ir-leds/1121/There is a lot to wiring these up and isolating them from the radio for the robot and motor noise, grounding, etc.
you can use this as a battery for the robot video

I am now finally ready to order the items I need and now I just wanted to ask if I’m not missing anything. What I have form the items listed above:
-MLT-JR Tracked Robot Platform TP-220-001 with receiver
-Wireless 900MHz Video Transmitter and Receiver Package WC-054-000
-Wide View Color Infra Red Camera with 7 IR LEDs WC-053-007
-Polymer Li-Ion Battery 11.1V 1800 mAh TE-139-111
And now I decided to add the Camera Tilt System WC-068-200 with the DPDT 8A Relay RC Switch TE-082-502 because this just fitted in my budget. I hope I didn’t overlook anything.April 6, 2015 at 8:51 am #2295SuperDroidKeymasterMake sure you select the MLT-JR. A RC radio is included with that kit as default, a DX5 should be enough.
Also not sure what you are doing with the DPDT 8A Relay RC Switch TE-082-502, that is for driving a single motor up to 8A. The DPDT 8A Relay RC Switch TE-082-502 is controlled and powered from the RC receiver.
You will also need a charger for Polymer Li-Ion Battery 11.1V 1800 mAh TE-139-111, this one is suitable http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/item.aspx/smart-charger-for-11-1v-li-ion-polymer-battery-0-8a/1129/.
The receiver for Wireless 900MHz Video Transmitter and Receiver Package WC-054-000 needs power too, this one will work http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/item.aspx/12vdc-1000ma-ac-power-transformer/1216/.
