SuperDroid Robot sells a lot of pre-made tracks. http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/category.aspx/sdr-manufactured-tracks-and-wheels/161/

The other options is building your own tracks. We sell track by the foot and the splices, or we can put the splice in for you. http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/category.aspx/other-manufactured-wheels-tracks-and-treads/162/

Be Sure to what a video on how to make a splice here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xf5YD4yO30

I have discovered an excellent hard track material suitable for wheeled bots . The ideal originated with my industrial Land Tamer II 80 Hp 6x6x6 amphibian ,i bought the hard tracks option with it designed to fit the 15″ rim 32″x 11″ 6 ply truck tires .

Recently i was helping a younger man who had bought 1/2 share in an established machine shop .!I was identifying old machine tools he had never encountered before (i have more than 35 years of machine shop experience as a Master Old School machinist )well in going thru all the stuff he had bought i discovered plastic “Table Top conveyor chain” he had widths from 4″ to 12″ wide and he gifted me with a nice long length of the 4″ width which will work Great with my HD Enclosed ATR 4WD 10″ wheel rover i bought as a kit from our forum hosts !
This conveyor chain is available from McMaster&Carr and used/new on Ebay (really cheap) it is a very stout plastic with SS pins holding the segments together (it is industrial production line equipment ) it can easily drilled and tapped for internal tire grousers and eternal cleats made from anything from plastic to bent sheet metal in the same fashion my my 6x6x6 amphibian tracks are made by this company http://www.trutrax.com .

With my ATR a 59″ piece for each side is all that is required so a 10′ section will make a pair of tracks with a spare segment or two left over . You deflate the tires add the tracks over and re inflate until the necessary tension is reached and GO ! So you can see a little prep work and you too can make some really tough hard tracks for your wheeled robot with ease !

I showed the track material to the class and a few segments of my Trutrax and they are working on designing the internal grouser design to fit the tires the best way out of several different materials which i will have to fabricate and make a drill jig so they can do the installation of the elements themselves , they have so many ideals none bad ,it makes me proud to mentor such a group of young people ! One day there will be pictures but not yet .
