I am trying to connect 4 Motors from AM equipment part number 226-3001
to the Sabertooth 2×25 Motor drivers. Is this possible? I have a nominal amp rating for the motors. which is 11 clockwise and 12.8 rotating counterclockwise.
February 5, 2015 at 1:11 pm #1702SuperDroidKeymasterThere isn’t an issue wiring four motors to a single Sabertooth but you need to be cautious on your total load. As per the datasheet for your motors, they have a no-load current draw of 4.5A and a nominal 12.8A. With four motors your going to be pushing 18A to 51.2A. At no load you’ll barely be under the maximum current for the 2×25.
I would suggest looking at the Sabertooth 2×60

April 27, 2015 at 12:11 pm #2367Jon VanSkiverParticipantI have a 2010 Jet 3 Ultra electric wheelchair (2 24volt brushed motors) this has 2-12v DC batteries and a 50amp breaker. I want to be able to control this remotely. I’m assuming I will need a motor or speed controller, a Transmitter and a Receiver. First is this all I will need and 2 can you please advise as to what item/part #’s I will need? Thanks for all of your help.

You only need one dual channel motor controller. 2×25 is pushing it a little with wheel chair motors. if you are doing light duty it should be OK. A 2×60 would be a better choice. http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/category.aspx/rc-controllers/52/You will need a couple of these too to hook up the Sabertooth to the Spektrum receiver.
