We’ve designed a new product: a smaller version of or MLT tank. This little inspection robot is built with the same high level of quality, strength and power as its predecessor, and performs exceptionally well for its size. It’s designed for tight spaces – it has a footprint of only 9.5″ X 6.75″. With the camera facing forward, it’s 6″ high.
The wide-view color 7 IR camera with a pan-and-tilt system ensures full view of the robot’s surrounding space. Controlled wirelessly with a simple RC controller, it transmits the video signal back via an RCA cable plugged into an LCD screen (included).
The motor and track combination allow this robot to roll over most terrain, but its size makes it very maneuverable indoors. Each track is driven by a planetary gear motor, delivering smooth, reliable power. The sprocket wheels are mounted directly to the motor output shaft, and an idler wheel is bolted to the chassis. The molded 4-ply seamless tracks offer exceptional strength
It uses differential steering, where movement is based on two separately driven wheels placed on either side of the robot’s aluminum chassis. This arrangement makes directional changes possible because the relative rate of the rotation of its tracks varies.
The SST is available as a prebuilt (TP-500-120), where it’s fully assembled, tested and ready to ship. It also can be purchased as an assembled, teested, customizable kit (TP-633-000).
