Fuquay-Varina, NC (May 6, 2020): SuperDroid Robots, a leading manufacturer of tactical robots, will donate a $20,000 tactical robot to the local Fuquay-Varina police department on Wednesday, May 6th, at 2:00PM. The donation is part of SuperDroid Robots celebration of twenty years in business. The presentation will take place at SuperDroid Robot’s design and manufacturing facility.
“We want to give back to the community that’s supported us for years,” said Susan Payne, SuperDroid Robot’s CFO. “This robot is our way of showing our appreciation for the service and dedication of our local police!”
“Technology is continuing to advance in the policing industry and we are extremely appreciative of SuperDroid Robots for this donation of a LT2-F Bloodhound robot to allow our Special Response Team to deploy technology to assess a scene before placing our police officers in harm’s way”, said Fuquay-Varina Police Chief Laura Fahnestock. This is an example of public/private partnerships in the Town of Fuquay-Varina to provide tools for law enforcement in unknown and potentially dangerous environments. We are continually seeking technology to improve safety and this generous donation from SuperDroid Robots Inc. assists in reaching that goal for the Fuquay-Varina Police Department”.
The LT2-F Bloodhound is in use by law enforcement around the world. Its primary purpose is to allow officers to observe and enter dangerous situations. This includes hostage negotiations, room clearing, and remote surveillance.
